Description

A music manuscript folio with the notation and lyrics for the songs "Hark! Hark!", "Row de Dow Dow"—more often called "How Happy the Soldier"—"Highland March", and "Lucy the Fair Queen of Hearts" on the front. The inner pages contain notation and lyrics for the songs; "Thrie Sheips Skins", "Signor Geminiani's Minuet"—taken from the Air "Gently Touch the Warbling Lyre" by Francesco Geminiani—and "What Beauties does Flora Disclose", Taken from "Tweedside" by Joseph Haydn. The back page is blank. Sources are listed on the manuscript. Part of the collection of songs and dances from the 17th and 18th centuries gathered by Bessie Osgood; ^"Hark! Hark!" is in F major and 6/8 time; "Row de Dow Dow" is in D major and 6/8 time; "Highland March" is in A major and 4/4 time; "Lucy the Fair Queen of Hearts" is in A major and 6/8 time; "Thrie Sheips Skins" is in D major and 4/4 time; "Signor Geminiani's Minuet" is in B-flat major and 3/4 time; "What Beauties does Flora Disclose" is in G major and 3/4 time.
